  2. Portable app w/ default save to cloud

    Portablize it! Since I can already save everything to the cloud, this would be absolutely perfect as a portable app. Optimize Write! for installation on USB drive to be taken anywhere and default save to the cloud.

  4. Line height and paragraph spacing

    I'd like to be able to configure the line-height and spacing between paragraphs. The current, default layout has the text (in my view) packed too closely together.

  6. Build an awesome community around an awesome product

    Build a community of developers around Write! (on github for example) to release more often new releases. It would be great to have this as a free software, but keep your culture of perfection and consistency and federate other developers/designers around these principles.

    The ability to create tables by assembling a list of words and dividing them with hyphens - (for the first row), and then separating each column with a pipe |, like in GitHub Flavored Markdown:

  8. Adding maths and medias support

    Hi ! I though adding a maths support ( to write maths studies ) can be pretty cool by the fact of write will be one of few softwares which accept these but the software which accept these with the best text editor UI and the easiest.

    Then, a simple media supprot is needed, as exemple : we can export documents to .odt but just type text with defined sizes and color, medias and framing gesture will perfect this soft

  9. Split window in two parts

    Please make it possible to split window in two parts, like it is implemented in Notepad++. Screenshot:

    It is very useful when you have a source document or a plan and another document you work on. So you can write to one and to look into another without switching anything. It is very useful on wide screens.

    Guys, i am ready to code for you, this simple functionnality:
    POST markdown to wordpress site
    if you also can add image handling this editor will be a BANGER.
    for the moment i have a python script that posts the markdown when there is a new file...
    but a built in functionnality in write!! ... mama mia..

    We are planning to implement the built-in Wordpress synchronization later. However, starting from Write! Beta 8, you’ll be able to open any Write! document in markdown syntax in another tab, and copy md contents from there.

  12. Autocomplete quotes

    Much like how you can autocomplete single/double quotes and braces in programming tools, a quote autocomplete feature here would be extremely useful. Especially for folks who intend to use this for writing scripts where you use use quotes a lot (and that would be my primary use as well).

    The desired behavior would be such that when you type a single/double quote, it automatically writes the second one and puts the cursor inbetween the two.

  14. Add A Todo Pane

    When writing most people create todo lists and tick them off one-by-one. Can I suggest a pop out pane on the right hand side which appears when the cursor is placed over it, no clicking needed. Also to make the list items drag-and-drop so no retyping is required should the text be complete. Dragging the item would also place a tick to show it has been done. Users can always unclick if they are not finished with that item. I hope that makes sense. No other editor has such a feature, or so believe.

  16. Closing and Minimizing Write

    Hi!

    It would be great if I could just close Write when clicking on the Closing X button. I don't really need it running in the background all the time. Otherwise, I feel like I'm using Skype (which is a fastidious pain to close).

    About minimizing the application: Instead of just minimizing it to Apps bar, you could add a settings option, so the user can choose where it would be minimized: to the app bar or to the tray bar. MusicBee works like this and it's pretty great :)

  17. Track changes and version revision

    Would it be possible to add change tracking? something like what Word has. It is an amazing tool for writers as it allows you to work on top of what you already have while keeping clear what has been changed and what is yet to be revised.

    Change tracking is planned.
    Currently, you can use Ctrl+Z that works even after a document was closed and reopened.
